Design Story

LILI's concept is based on the core idea of two bent plywood pieces merging and making unity as the chair body. The design of curves and shapes of the two pieces and the chair legs are aimed at emphasizing this core idea. Rounded edges mellow the rigour of the sleek, clear-cut volumes, resulting in a trim but cosy small armchair. This is a dynamic creation whose most striking feature is the three-dimensional harmony of its lines. LiLi has a homogenic and minimalist form. The radius of the bent forms and the radius on the corners of the shapes repeat and provide consistency. How the chair appears from different angles is an important factor in the design. LiLi is suitable for office, educational and public spaces and is a good choice for home-office. It fits into a variety of environments and interiors, suitable to a diverse audience. Its design is not dictated by trends but is timeless. The chair is made of two bent plywood sheets which are formed in a mold. The base is made of iron pipes formed with CNC pipe bending machine. The seat provides good support for back and arms due to its appropriate body height. Padded upholstery provides enough comfort for a work chair, with rounded contours that soften the appearance. The base comes in two formats: 4-leg swivel chair base and 4-leg swivel chair base with casters to support different functions. With its welcoming shapes, contemporary profile and colourful upholstery in recycled fabrics, LiLi is dedicated to comfort in every scenario of contemporary living and working.
