A custom social table designed for the 7o8 coworking café in Tehran Innovation Factory. The piece supports community making through a fragmented geometry that creates subtle spatial boundaries for groups and individuals.

Designed for the café of the 7o8 coworking hub at Tehran Innovation Factory, the 7o8 Table was developed as a central social element within a shared workspace, reimagining the role of a communal surface as an active driver of community making. The project began with a clear ambition: to create a piece that performs beyond its basic function as a surface for working or dining, and instead supports a setting where people can sit together, work, talk, and gradually form a sense of community.
Rather than relying on a conventional linear form, the table adopts a fragmented top geometry that responds to the social dynamics of the environment. Its angled edges and broken contours introduce a spatial rhythm that naturally works for groups and individuals, allowing multiple modes of use to coexist without forcing a single pattern of occupation. This quiet zoning strategy encourages a more fluid experience of participation, users can feel both connected and individually accommodated.
From a structural perspective, the under-table attachments and connections are equally integral to the design intent. These functional details were carefully resolved to support the fractured geometry while maintaining clarity, durability, and stability in everyday high-traffic use. The result is a piece that aligns spatial intent with technical execution: a custom table that does not simply occupy the café, but actively participates in shaping its culture.
